Sunday Sermon … Luke’s Account

Luke did not have direct contact with Jesus and never spoke with him in person. So how did he give such a detailed and personal account of Jesus’ birth?
One theory is that after he and Paul came back from their missions in Acts 21, they went to the temple. But Luke was a Gentile and could not go all the way into the temple.
So, he may have gone to Mary’s home to ask her a few questions about Jesus’ birth. He would’ve known that Mark had already written a biography of Jesus, but it doesn’t start with Jesus’ birth. He would also know that Matthew had started writing his account, but it would be directed towards the Jews. Luke wanted one directed to the Gentiles as well.
So this theory continues on with Luke asking several questions while Mary is lying in bed, sick and old. Mary answers the questions and Luke records her answers.
I have another theory, a simpler theory. God/Jesus/Holy Spirt came to Luke and spoke to him, told him what to write down.
I have no real idea of which is correct, if either one is.

This event takes place the night before Jesus’ death.
First we see Jesus tell the disciples that they cannot follow Him to where He is going, not yet anyways. But that they eventually will.
Then Peter says: Lord, why not? I’m willing to die for you!
Jesus replies: Are you sure you’re willing to do that? You will disown me three times before the rooster crows!
Jesus goes on to say that we shouldn’t let our hearts be worried. He says to trust in God and in Him.
There’s a house where Jesus is going. This house is Heaven.
There are rooms in the house. These rooms are the places He prepared for us.
There’s one road that leads to the house. This road is Jesus!
