Sunday Sermon … Jesus Prays for Us: May Our Lives Glorify God

February 22nd, 2009

John 17:1-5

What is the glory of God?

God’s glory is something so amazing that we can’t even stand to see it. Just read Ezekiel 1 and you’ll see how awesome it is.

What does it mean to glorify God?

John 12:20-36 tells us that gloryfying God means spreading His Word and living for Him.

How can my life glorify God?

Psalm 63:2-5 – Praise Him by singing and other forms of worship.

John 15:8 – Bearing fruit. Christ-like character. Good works.

1 Peter 2:12 – Live right. Good Deeds.

1 Corinthians 6:20 – The word translated as “honor” can also be translated as ” glorify.” … Your body – pure, faithful in every aspect of life including yourr lovelife and at work.

1 Corinthians 10:31 – Do everything you do in such a way that it glorifies God. Homework, sports, camping, etc.

Thanks so much for the link about Eric Liddel.
I remember learning about him at Good News Club when I was younger.

This quote of his really makes me think.

“We are all missionaries. Wherever we go, we either bring people nearer to Christ, or we repel them from Christ.”
