A Small Delay

March 15th, 2009

Hey guys, sorry, but I’ve been real busy today and just had a few minutes on the laptop…. not enough time to type all these notes for the SS… I will post the Sunday Sermon later tonight.

And I should thank Daffodilly for posting the Sunday Sermon last week. Thanks Daff. :)

True Identity

November 20th, 2008

What’s your identity? Is it your name? Or more than that?

Let’s think about this…. You may have an ID card or a driver’s liscence. What’s on there? A name, height, weight, eye color, gender, hair color, birthdate, etc. But what does all of that really add up to?

All of that seems to just be more statistics for people to keep up with. So the question remains… What is your true identity?

I think your true identity and your legend are the same thing. They are how people perceive you. Can you control that at all? … Yes, to an extent. People develop perceptions of you based on how you behave and by what other people say about you.

In order to have any control over your true identity and legend, you must act. Act with decisiveness and act on your beliefs.

Will you be able to truly identify yourself as a Christian? (which literally means “little Christ.”) Or will your identity be something else? …. Something you may not have intended.

And your legend… Will people admire you after your gone? Or despise you? Or just simply forget about you?

It all starts with you. You decide who you are going to be, how you will be remembered.

I’ll finish with a quote I see quite a bit. … “Live your life so the preacher won’t have to lie at your funeral.” – Micah 6:8
